    ISSUE:
Microsoft has issued two major security updates for the Windows XP operating system. The most recent update is called SP 2 (Service Pack 2) which may create installation and operating issues with DK software. The most common issue prompts a “Sound decompression” warning box.

Warning box messages:ERROR MESSAGE: "The Sound decompression software has not been installed properly. Please run setup and try again. This program will now terminate." ERROR MESSAGE: "The sound software is not installed properly or has been disabled. For more information see the READ ME file installed with this program. This title will terminate."

RESOLUTION:
We have created a small, easy-to-download patch to fix this problem.
You may have to temporarily disable your antivirus software in order to download this patch. To do this right-click the antivirus software icon in the right corner of your computer screen. Then download and execute the patch.  To re-enable your antivirus software right-click the icon and “re-enable”. Once the patch is installed your program will run flawlessly.

Click here to download the XP patch.

Download the patch by clicking the blue box above.
In the window that appears Click the Save button
Save the patch to your desktop.
Double click the SP patch icon and follow the directions for installation.
The patch should automatically save in the correct folder:
C:\Windows\Sytems 32
If this folder is not listed in the blue box, use browse box to find C:\Windows\System 32
Click on the “Finish” button and follow the directions..
NOTE: This patch must be installed in the System 32 Folder of your operating system. If after installation the patch does not work, please reinstall following the same steps listed above.

Active X controls- The SP2 patch may prohibit the use of Active X which is commonly used to run many software programs. WIN XP SP2 users will get a yellow toolbar warning in their Internet Explorer window and then must grant permission to run Active X controls by clicking on the yellow toolbar warning and clicking “Allow use of Active X”. This will resolve the problem and allow the program to continue.
