ISSUE: In Windows XP the program will not run and the error message says: “C:\WINT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.”
RESOLUTION:
This is actually a problem with the Microsoft Windows installation rather than the program itself. This is related to a corrupted AUTOEXEC file or WIN XP users who do not have one at all. The link below is an article from Microsoft regarding this error message: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767&Product=winxp
Click on the links below to install the AutoExec file which should resolve this problem:
In the pop-up window that appears, click “Save” and in the dropdown box select “Desktop”. Double click on the desktop icon and click “unzip”. Click on the unzipped file to execute the program if it doesn’t automatically install.
