ERROR: Director Player 5.0 and 6.0: "This program requires at least 3MB of virtual free memory to run.

Solution: This error can occur on Windows configurations with large amounts of installed RAM. To prevent this error carry out the following:

Try adjusting the Virtual Memory size to be automatically handled by Windows.

1. Right Click on My Computer

2. Select Properties

3. Select Advanced tab

4. Next to Performance heading select Settings button

5. Select Advanced tab

6. Next to Virtual Memory heading select Change

7. Select 'System Managed Size'

8. Select Apply

9. Select OK & Apply buttons to close the boxes and re-start Windows.

10. Try the program again

11. If this does not solve your problem you will need to follow these steps:

Repeat Steps 1-5 above.

1. Select CUSTOM SIZE

2. Enter the MAXIMUM SIZE (MB): as 200 (This value can vary from configuration to configuration. Generally, a maximum Virtual Memory setting of 200MB will prevent the problem from occurring)

3. Click on the SET button

4. Click on OK

5. Close all the following windows by clicking OK

6. Restart your PC

If this doesn’t resolve the problem then also try setting the two figures to 4000 MBs, and if that doesn’t work try setting the min to 368
